Tot crusher freed early from prison
A MAN jailed for more than seven years for crushing his girlfriend’s threeyear-old son with his car seat has been freed early.
Stephen Waterson reversed it onto Alfie Lamb who was sitting at his mum’s feet as they returned home to Croydon, South London. Alfie died in hospital three days later in February 2018.
Waterson, 30, not due for release until 2023, was jailed for manslaughter and perverting justice by lying to police and intimidating witnesses.
Old Bailey judge Mr Justice Timothy Kerr told Waterson he was “manipulative, dishonest, deceitful, controlling, threatening, and sometimes violent”.
Alfie’s mum Adrian Hoare was jailed in May 2019 for child cruelty.
