COVID CASES REACH 119

CHINA has detected 119 cases of Covid among people linked to the Beijing Winter Olympics over the past four days – with authorities imposing a “closed loop” bubble to keep participants, staff and media away from the public.

Russian biathlete Valeria Vasnetsova (above) twice tested positive after arriving in Beijing.

“Unfortunately my Olympic dream will remain just a dream,” she wrote on social media. “Maybe one day I will find the strength to rise again but it will be a completely different story.”
