NHS workers: Abuse on rise
ABUSE of NHS staff has increased since last year, according to a shock poll.
Workers feel “forgotten”, with 54% saying abuse is on the rise. NHS Charities Together found 43% report receiving abuse.
Paramedic Ben Glover, 43, of Southampton, said: “I’ve been bitten, punched, hit, it’s picked up recently.”
Ellie Orton, head of NHS Charities Together, said: “Covid cases are still high. While many staff may feel support has waned, people are still behind them.”
