BEN WHITEMAN missed a penalty as Preston failed to steal a win from this drab game.
The North End midfielder hit a post with his 65th-minute spot-kick in a rare moment of excitement at the Den.
Other than that, this was a contender for worst game of the season between two sides stuck in mid-table.
In front of Millwall’s worst home league crowd of the season – 10,183 – it took nearly half an hour for either side to have a serious chance, a Maikel Kieftenbeld volley that was deflect wide.

his four goals in four games when denied by Bartosz Bialkowski from distance.
The Lions started the second half brightly but Benik Afobe was foiled by Daniel Iversen after taking one touch too many.
Kieftenbeld went close again while Mason Bennett’s long ranger also failed to trouble visiting goalkeeper Iversen.
Preston offered little but were award a penalty when Millwall defender Shaun Hutchinson tangled with Andrew Hughes.
But Whiteman’s inability to take the opportunity seemed to sum up the overall night.
