Moore so upset by move talk

Barnsley v Cardiff

CARDIFF boss Steve Morison said Kieffer Moore forced through his transfer to Bournemouth after his head was turned by speculation over his future.

The Wales striker, who saw a switch to Wolves collapse in the last window, joined the promotionchasing Cherries for £5million on transfer deadline day.

Moore (above) has only scored five goals this season, compared to 20 last term, and Morison (left) believes transfer talk hit his performances.

He said: “We still didn’t want to sell him, we wanted him to turn his form around and be a part of what we’re doing.

“But he effectively forced the move in the end with the transfer request.

“Last year’s transfer talk 100 per cent affected him.”

Cardiff moved to replace Moore by landing Uche Ikpeazu on loan from Middlesbrough and he will now join another new recruit, Jordan Hugill, in attack at Barnsley tonight.

Morison added: “We’ve got two huge games either side of Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Liverpool. Beating Barnsley and then Peterborough are the key.”
