Dele, 25, added: “I’ve had a few good conversati­ons with Frank Lampard already and he’s a player I’ve admired watching his whole career.

“To get the opportunit­y to work with him now is very exciting and I’m sure we’re going to do great things together.”

Everton have signed Dele on a free transfer and will be liable to pay £10million when he’s made 20 appearance­s – but further down the line he could cost more than £30m.

Dele played his best football at Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino and his staff.

And he said: “Their trust and guidance early in my career gave me the platform to show what I can do.”
