AUBA STARTS LIFE IN BARCA TRAINING WITH NEW AMIGOS JOHN CROSS

- BY

STRIKER Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has begun life at Barcelona after training with his new team-mates.

Arsenal confirmed last night that he had left the club by mutual consent and Barcelona president Joan Laporta hopes to formally unveil their new signing today.

The Catalans had been expected to make an announcement yesterday after getting the deal across the line, but kept everyone waiting.

Aubameyang (above) moved to the Nou Camp after Barcelona agreed to take over his wages and Arsenal waived a transfer fee. The move looked on the brink of collapse before the former Arsenal captain agreed to a hefty cut to his £350,000-a-week salary.

Barca now face a dilemma as UEFA rules mean they can register only three new players for the Europa League.

They signed Aubameyang along with Ferran Torres, Dani Alves and Wolves winger Adama Traore – so one big name will have to miss out.
