Plans for ban on mobiles in schools axed
PROPOSALS for a ban on mobile phones in schools have been dropped, the Government admitted.
Updated guidance on improving discipline will leave it for headteachers to decide whether phones can be used in classrooms.
Ex-Education Secretary Gavin Williamson pushed to scrap them last year.
His successor Nadhim Zahawi has now stepped back from a blanket ban.
Children who are not in school will also be listed on a new register.
