Shamed star makes £1.3m house profit
SHAMED footballer Adam Johnson has sold his home for £1.75million while a company in his name faces a £523,737 tax bill.
The ex-Man City and Sunderland winger bought the eight-bedroom mansion at Castle Eden, Co Durham, for £446,000 in 2010.
His parents David and Sonia are the sole shareholders of Adam Johnson Promotions Limited.
The company is due to appear in a Newcastle court on February 18.
Dad David declined to comment on proceeds from the house sale potentially being used to meet the bill. He said: “There is no real story until there is a decision in court.”
Johnson, 34, was jailed for sexual activity with a child in 2016 and freed in 2019.
