- BY LOUIE SMITH

A MAN was jailed for life yesterday for murdering his former partner and her nine-year-old son.

Daniel Boulton, 30, stabbed Bethany Vincent, 26, and Darren Henson, who had autism, at their home last year.

Ms Vincent had been due to move to a new address four days after her death.

Boulton went on the run for 24 hours and stabbed an off-duty officer in the leg before being arrested.

Judge Mr Justice Pepperall sentenced him to two life terms, serving a minimum of 40 years.

He said Boulton killed his victims “before they moved out of your reach”.

The former amusement arcade worker began a relationship with Bethany

in March 2019 but became violent and possessive.

Despite a restraining order, he sent her nearly 900 messages on the weekend before the deaths.

On May 31, Boulton walked 28 miles to the home of Bethany and Darren, who was known as DJ, in Louth, Lincs.

Lincoln crown court heard the accused carried out the murders minutes after the victims’ FaceTime chat with Bethany’s mum Caroline Vincent.

Boulton burgled a cottage and tried to hijack two cars before being held.

The accused, of Skegness, Lincs, was convicted of the murders on Tuesday.
