Sex addicts’ chemistry

MEN who suffer from sex addiction may have higher levels of the “love hormone” oxytocin than other men, a study suggests.

Researchers say that targeting the hormone could be a new treatment for hypersexual disorder.

Dr Andreas Chatzittofis, of the University of Cyprus Medical School, led the study of 30 men.

He said: “Oxytocin plays an important role in sex addiction and may be a potential drug target for future treatment.”
