CIT’S THE END OF AN ERA

The last Citroen C1 is about to roll out of the factory in the Czech Republic. Launched in 2005 with sister models the Peugeot 106 and Toyota Aygo, the little city car sold 1.2 million in its lifetime.

Sadly, it’s not going to be replaced by another small and economical petrol-engined car. But Toyota is building a new generation of the Aygo and it will have a petrol engine.

I can see this becoming one of the cheapest new cars on sale in this country before it can no longer be sold in 2030.
