Personalisation and bespoke builds have been common in the car industry for decades. Bentley, Porsche, Ferrari and many others have given customers the option of dramatically changing the specification of their cars to suit individual taste.

Now, for the first time, a big bike maker is doing the same.

Ducati has launched what it’s calling Unica, a bespoke service that will allow customers to liaise with designers and engineers to create a one-off motorcycle. Precious materials, exclusive colours and performance accessories are on offer too.

Ducati says that only a very limited number of bikes will be built each year under the Unica arm. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the results.
