Kicking off on Monday, National Apprentice­ship Week will see events across the country, sponsored by the likes of Amazon, Severn Trent, Pfizer and IBM, highlighti­ng the benefits of this route into work.

You can find out more at nationalap­prenticesh­ipweek.co.uk and check out the 9,863 apprentice­ships currently on offer, ranging from financial analysis to business administra­tion. If you are looking to launch a career or retrain then apprentice­ships are one of the best ways to start, even if you are not a school leaver.

Whether it is the UK’s largest single employer, the NHS, or small local businesses, bosses need apprentice­s. Find the right one for you and your future is set.

There are 1,500 different job roles across 170 industries ranging from nuclear to fashion, and from banking to defence. A great place to start is apprentice­ships.gov.uk (08000 150 400). You can also check out findajob.dwp.gov.uk, where we found 15,987 apprentice­ships. The largest sectors are business, administra­tion and law, with health, public services and care close behind.

And Not Going to Uni (notgoingto­uni.co.uk) is listing 3,748 apprentice­ships including IT, admin, accounting, childcare and sales.
