Wenger should walk away from grubby FIFA

IN most normal organisations a CEO pitching one of its products in such a tasteless manner would probably finish them off.

FIFA chief Gianni Infantino (left) said: “We need to find ways to give hope to Africans so they don’t need to cross the Mediterranean to find, maybe, a better life, but more probably death in the sea.”

That was his latest attempt to sell a money-grubbing bid for a biennial World Cup, and was so staggeringly obscene there should’ve been deafening calls for his head.

But that’s not how FIFA works. It’s jobs for the boys for life unless the police move in. But, surely, if Arsene Wenger still cares about his reputation he should cease to act as a snake-oil salesman for this ill-thought-out scam.

Wenger should walk away from FIFA – now.
