Putin spooks make fake dirty bomb vid in bid to spark war
RUSSIAN spies have launched another “false flag” plot in a bid to trigger war with Ukraine.
The Kremlin is suspected of faking a video of a dirty bomb being constructed by extremists.
The footage pretends to show a Ukrainian putting the final touches to a device using radioactive material.
Wording beneath the film states the blast will spread the deadly poison three miles from the explosion.
The tape is soundless and features Ukrainian wording while suggesting it was made by extreme right-wing group National Corps Party.
The alleged terrorist wears black gloves and warns that Ukraine intends to kill thousands.
He lifts the lid on a black container revealing a timer and wiring connected to yellow and white bags.
He then unscrews the “detonator” and places a mobile phone with a flashing red light next to another phone primed to trigger the blast.
A caption next to a logo of the National Corps Party reads: “Remote controlled explosive device with radioactive elements. It is devised for the partisan war. It will be used in the case of Russian army invasion in the territory of Ukraine.”
But it was exposed as another sham aimed at justifying a conflict as 126,000 Russian troops gather on Ukraine’s eastern flank and more than 80,000 Russian and Belarusian troops line up in the north in Belarus.
The video first appeared on a Telegram channel and has been broadcast on Russian websites.
Dirty bombs are made from nuclear waste packed around a high-explosive charge and are designed to kill people and contaminate a wide area for years.
The footage was circulated days after US intelligence intercepted another Russian-made scam in which actors played Ukrainian militia and corpses.
Ukraine’s StopFake monitoring organisation has identified a string of inflammatory Moscow-backed videos in recent years.
These include depictions of Ukrainian “Nazis” crucifying children, burying enemy troops alive and executing pregnant women.
The National Corps Party said of the latest video: “This is a poorly made fake, the work of the sick imagination of Russians to discredit Ukraine.”
