Hot and bothered
BORIS Johnson had been hoping to jet away from his Partygate woes on his two-day trip to India.
It may have begun with a red carpet welcome but quickly switched as the scandal loomed large and a tetchy PM tried in vain to shift focus on to trade deals, energy and security.
In temperatures of 42C, he was certainly feeling the heat – over Partygate and his visit to a JCB factory owned by Tory donor Lord
Bamford. At Akshardham Temple, the PM got agitated when asked about Partygate, looking at his watch and telling insistent journalists: “Get on to the subject of the trip.”
He was even more exasperated yesterday at being repeatedly questioned about his political future.
