What a doll Thursday

-

Come on Barbie! Let’s go (garden) party! Yes, she turned 96 on Thursday, but Her Majesty has also just become the world’s latest Barbie Girl, thanks to Mattel’s new Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee edition.

Naturally, any self-respecting Barbie Girl lives in a Barbie World (as we learned from Aqua’s catchy 90s hit). So here’s hoping the Windsor branch of Wickes has stocked up on pink paint.

Of course, it’s not the first time Her Majesty’s been dolled up, having already been made into a Peggy Nisbet and a Cissy doll.

But as Barbie reigns supreme (sorry, Sindy!), it’s a fitting honour.

Yet if Her Majesty gets her own queen of dolls, what toy would the rest of the royals be honoured with?

Former RAF helicopter pilot Prince

William’s a shoo-in for his own Action Man.

Royal rebels Harry and Meghan will surely be transformed into Bratz (if they haven’t been already, ahem).

As for Prince Andrew? A Cabbage Patch Doll seems most appropriate. Absolutely beloved in the 80s, now seen for what they are... anything but charming, no longer relevant, and cost us way more than they should.
