Breast cell’s cancer sign
A TYPE of breast cell could warn women if their cancer is likely to return, a study has found.
Changes in the cell’s genetic material could help stop new tumours growing, say scientists who analysed samples from mastectomy patients.
Study author Prof Priscilla Furth of Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC, said: “Many cancer survivors say to me, ‘Please do work that will benefit my daughter’.
“We hope our findings will lead to more precise and directed screening.”
