LGBT critic James finds the past can be a drag

-

RABID Republican Tim James’ bid for office in Alabama is steeped in his anti-LGBT views.

During one of his promotional campaign ads, he blasted some teachers for their diverse views, calling them part of “the first transgender public school in the south”.

But what incensed him most was a fundraiser featuring students in drag at the LGBT-friendly Magic City Acceptance Academy in Homewood.

James branded the event “vile” and “evil”, leading the school to hire extra security.

He has been slightly quieter in recent days, however. Could it be to do with the 1980 photo that recently emerged showing James taking part in his school’s long-standing tradition – football players dressed in drag before a big game?

The award for the wackiest lawsuit of the month goes to Kentucky’s Kevin Berling.

He has just been awarded more than £345,000 after his firm threw him a surprise birthday party.

Berling claimed the unwanted 2019 bash at Gravity Diagnostics caused him a series of panic attacks.

His lawsuit said he was “confronted and criticised” at a meeting the following day, where he was accused of “stealing his co-workers’ joy” and “being a little girl”.

A woman in Norm’s dog park this week asked where my accent was from. When I said Yorkshire, she sighed: “Ahh, the home of terriers, tea, whippets and cat flaps.” Flat caps, I think she meant.
