MY AMAZING ARTWORK

-

Taking the sea air was considered a cure for many maladies which is why coastal towns such as Brighton started to become very popular from the 18th century.

Amateur artist Eric Green painted this picture of the West Sussex promenade as it would have been in 1900.

The 81-year-old, who lives in Norwich, says: “I have been painting and drawing for many years and find it a very enjoyable pastime.

“I mostly like to paint views of my local Norfolk Broads, but this picture is of the King’s Road in Brighton. I have a collection of old artist view postcards which I use as inspiration for my artwork.

“I have also collected my paintings in two small books, which I call Eago Art. I sign my paintings ‘Eago’ which stands for EA Green Original.”
