RANGNICK: POGBA WILL NOT PLAY FOR UNITED AGAIN

RALF RANGNICK criticised Paul Pogba – after revealing that the midfielder will not play for Manchester United again.

Pogba, out of contract this summer, was injured early on in United’s 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Tuesday and will not recover in time to play again this season.

The France star was crocked in LINEt-hUePbSu: SilEdE-uPpUtLoLLthOeUTAPnAfiGeEld12side’s opener, with interim United boss Rangnick claiming he should have been smarter and gone down to stop the game. “It was never part of the game plan to stand at the halfway line, even more so since Pogba was already hobbling across the pitch,” said Rangnick.

“He should have laid down or sat down on the ground, but he was trying to hobble behind the ref and telling him he’s injured.

“We were effectively one player down and still attacking high up and against a team like Liverpool, who are probably one of the best in the world in transitional moments, that wasn’t particularly smart from our side.” Pogba (right)rejoined United from Juventus for a clubrecord £89million in 2016.

But he has failed to justify that huge outlay and will go down as one of the most expensive flops in Premier League history.

On Pogba’s injury, Rangnick revealed: “The doctor told me it will take four weeks minimum for him to recover.

“The last game is at the end of May.

“So I don’t think it’s very likely that he’ll play again.”
