BRING ON ENGLAND!

Wilson says Dragons are already fired up

HARRY WILSON says Wales can shock England at the World Cup.

Rob Page’s side clinched a place at Qatar in November with a play-off win over Ukraine in Cardiff at the weekend thanks to a deflected free-kick from talisman Gareth Bale.

That puts them in the same group as England – who they meet on November 29 – with USA and Iran alongside them.

Several of the Wales players were born in England, live there, and have represented the Three Lions at schoolboy level.

And Fulham’s Wilson (above) said: “We would be lying if we said we hadn’t looked at the fixtures. We all have friends in the England team. I have a couple in the USA team as well from Fulham.

“We will be having a bit of banter but once those games come around we will be against each other for 90 minutes. “I will be doing all I can for Wales and they will be doing all they can for their country.

“Wales against England is a massive game no matter where it is. But with it being at the World Cup, the biggest stage, it is going to be extra special. There is no reason why we can’t get a result against England. We are going to go there full of confidence and ready to take on anyone.”

The Dragons return to action at home to Belgium tomorrow after their 19-game unbeaten home run was ended by Wout Weghorst’s injury-time winner for Holland on Wednesday night. Wilson said there is no lack of confidence in the Welsh camp despite that setback.

“We are in a great place with the squad, we have a good mixture of youth and experience,” he said.

“Some of the boys have been there and done it at

Euro 2016 and some of us younger boys were able to experience it last year at the Euros.

“We are playing good stuff and we don’t lose too many games.

“We are disappointed with the Holland one but that is a good trait to have.”
