Another scourge to add to the list
Where I live, the number of people hospitalised with potentially deadly Victorian diseases has reached a five-year high. NHS figures show that on more than 10,000 occasions this past year patients in Merseyside were diagnosed with one of 13 Victorian diseases including tuberculosis, cholera, malnutrition, rickets, whooping cough, gout, measles, scurvy, typhoid, scarlet fever, diphtheria and mumps.
This is exactly what the Honourable Member for the 19th Century, Jacob Rees-Mogg, means when he says his government is bringing back the good old days.
I just wonder how many Tory donors are licking their lips at all the contracts for workhouse gruel that will be handed out via Johnson’s National Food Strategy?
