MY ’SLEB SELFIE

-

Going for a walk over the fells in the Lake District, you don’t really expect to bump into one of TV’s most famous funnymen.

But Cynthia Parton, 69, and her partner David Shephard, who live near Crewe in Cheshire, were delighted to meet Room 101’s Frank Skinner.

“We were about to set off for our walk from Buttermere lake, and Frank was preparing to do a shoot for a TV programme about William Wordsworth,” explains Cynthia.

“My partner is a massive Laurel & Hardy fan and knew Frank was too. So they had a chat and a laugh at some of the memories of the comedy duo on film.”

She adds: “It was so nice of him to spend that time chatting to us and I was chuffed when I asked for a selfie and he happily obliged.”

I’m a bit of a Frank Skinner fan myself, so it’s always nice to hear when your hero is a decent chap.
