AFTER the stunning victory, Lib Dem leader Ed Davey unveiled a blue door bearing the words: “Time to show Boris the door”.
Supporters chanted: “Ed! Ed! Ed!” as the beaming ex-Cabinet Minister warned Johnson: “We are coming after you seat by seat.”
Voters were mainly right behind him. Retired legal worker Janet McKnight, 72, said: “It was inevitable the Tories would lose because of Boris.” Kevin Taylor, 63, a parttime contracts manager, said: “We want him out, don’t we? He’s got to go because of lying. How can you take that man seriously?”
Retired financial director Dave Gunney, 81, said: “It’s brilliant. The public are fed up with Boris – everything from Brexit, proroguing Parliament, Partygate, you name it.” Unemployed Jamie Frost, 39, said: “It’s a kick in the teeth for the Tories considering we have always been Conservative down here.” Greggs worker Kayleigh Hunter, 21, said: “Boris shouldn’t stay. Everyone seems to think that he isn’t the right person to be in charge.”
