Prince shaken but not stirred

-

PRINCE Charles shakes Boris Johnson’s hand yesterday, despite allegedly being unimpressed by the Prime Minister’s deportation policy.

Charles reportedly branded Britain’s plan to force asylum seekers to Rwanda “appalling”.

Mr Johnson said he had a “good old chinwag” with the prince at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda, but the pair reportedly spent just 15 minutes together. The PM declined to reveal what had been discussed when the pair met, with no aides present.

Mr Johnson had previously said: “A lot of prejudices about Rwanda need to be blown away.”

Charles’s wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was spotted chatting to the Prime Minister’s wife Carrie as the event was officially opened.

And one performer at the ceremony displayed blond locks even wilder than the Prime Minister’s mop. The Rwandan government confirmed Britain has paid the £120million for a five-year asylum scheme.

European Court of Human Rights rulings have so far prevented the arrival of any migrants.

Both Mr Johnson and Rwanda refused to say whether the £120m will be refunded if the High Court throws out the policy, but the PM said: “I’m confident it will produce value for money.”
