VIVA AND JOHN O’FLYNN
Viva O’Flynn’s Elvis obsession started early. She says: “My parents were big Elvis fans and sang me his ballads as lullabies.”
The 40-year-old chef married John in the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel on February 3, 2018, surrounded by close family… and Elvis.
She adds: “My name is actually short for Genevieve but I love being connected to Elvis and Vegas. The two have always been synonymous… the musical, the song and all his residencies here.
“But also Elvis married Priscilla in Vegas too. So I knew I had to as well.”
Viva met John on a study trip to London. She says: “Like me, his parents were mad on Elvis but he thought we only listened to Philippines music in The Philippines. It was funny setting him straight.”
The couple, who now live in Gloucestershire, were in Sin City to celebrate Viva’s mum’s 65th birthday and while they had already wed with a religious ceremony in Manila, they couldn’t resist a second do in Vegas.
The couple’s Elvis impersonator sang I Can’t Help Falling in Love as well as officiating.
John says: “Afterwards, we all danced to him singing Viva Las Vegas. It was a very fun day. It would be sad to deny the opportunity for other Elvis fans to have the themed wedding experience that we had.
“And it would be so tragic if any
Elvis impersonators lost their jobs.”
