Greenwood stays on bail for ‘rape rap’
MANCHESTER United’s Mason Greenwood has had his bail extended after allegations he raped and assaulted a young woman.
The 20-year-old England footballer was arrested in January amid accusations that images and videos had been posted online.
He was also quizzed on suspicion of making “kill threats” on the same date.
Greater Manchester Police made an application to the courts on Thursday to keep Greenwood on bail.
The force said no further updates would be issued until the suspect was charged or released.
The player has been suspended from playing or training with the Old Trafford club.
He has one England cap.
