Crematorium is under fire
COUNCIL bosses have been slammed for spending £559,000 on a crematorium upgrade that does not include replacing the broken furnace.
The facility in Poole, Dorset, had its cremator decommissioned in 2020.
More than 5,000 bodies have since been taken 10 miles to Bournemouth.
BCP Council is doing up the chapel area and says a furnace “will be considered by cabinet in September”.
Campaigner Tony Reeves called it “absurd”.
