SWEETEST PET SELFIE

-

Reader Gillian Middlehurst sadly lost her beloved Jackapoo dog Jack three weeks ago. But Vivienne Vale’s lovely poem about her rose bush in last Wednesday’s Community Corner brought back special memories

Gillian of Atherton, Greater Manchester, says: “The lovely poem brought a tear to my eyes as we had to have Jack put to sleep. He’d had two operations and part of his jaw removed but very sadly the growth came back very aggressively.

“He was 16 years old but was still bouncing about like a puppy. We were heartbroken as you can imagine.

“I work in a hospital theatre and my work colleagues bought me a beautiful yellow peace rose which I have put next to him in the garden. So roses do have special memories for lots of people.”
