The pupils at St Anne’s and St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Accrington, Lancs, are becoming dab hands at gardening and have been making the most of the nice weather enjoying snail hunts, digging, watering – and a little bit of chilling.

Executive headteacher Sinead Colbeck said: “We have superb facilities at St Anne’s and St Joseph’s, especially outdoors where we have a Forest School, a pond, grass areas and more.

“The children in the Reception area have been learning about keeping plants alive so they have been making sure they are well and truly watered during this hot weather!”
