In your feature “Let’s bang the drum for Brum” (Your Voice, June 23), reader Alan Kelly threw in a shout for Newcastle bands, including The Animals, who, in my opinion, are one of the best British bands ever. However, his list also included the Pet Shop Boys. Yes, Neil Tennant hails from North Shields, but the duo was formed in London and the other half, keyboardist Chris Lowe, comes from here in sunny Blackpool.
