WIMBLEDON 2022

BBC2, 11am

-

Break out the strawberries and cream, top up the Pimm’s, it’s that time of the year again.

The world’s best tennis players will be fighting it out on the pristine lawns of the All England Club, with defending champion Novak Djokovic opening the action on Centre Court – which this year celebrates its centenary.

Daily coverage is presented by Sue Barker, who will be joined by a host of former Wimbledon champions including John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King and Pat Cash, as well as Tracy Austin, Johanna Konta, Caroline Wozniacki, Tim Henman and Annabel Croft.

Among the big hitters to watch out for on the courts are 23-time Grand Slam singles winner Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal – chasing Djokovic for the men’s title despite a foot injury, while British No 1 Emma Raducanu is back to do battle.

And for the first time in three years, the venue will be filled with capacity crowds enjoying what promises to be a thrilling fortnight.
