Pipe out to strike it Lucky

-

WIND surgery seemed to rejuvenate DO YA FEEL LUCKY at Worcester last time and she can follow up at Southwell (3.30, nap) even with a 7lb penalty.

The David Pipetrained eight-year-old, won the two-and-a-half mile handicap by 13 lengths, easing down, from Getaway Cory and today’s increase in trip to just over three miles should hold no fears.

If turning up in similar vein, she will take some stopping in the Sign Solutions Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, with regular partner Tom Scudamore (above) again in the saddle.

On the Flat at Pontefract, another in-form mare, ELEGANT ERIN, looks the pick of the day in the Napoleons Casino Bradford Fillies’ Handicap at Pontefract (2.15).

The five-year-old, trained by Paul Midgley, has won all three of her starts over five furlongs this year, including last time out in a seven-runner handicap at this course and distance when she beat King Of Tonga by a length.

Previously, she won in good fashion at Carlisle at the end of last month and Beverley in early May.

The form of the latter race has been franked by runner-up, Good Earth, winning twice since.

Havagomecca went close at Thirsk last time and may prove the biggest danger to my selection.
