‘Chile win is not hot enough’

-

GREGOR TOWNSEND said there was still room for improvement, despite Scotland A’s 45-5 victory in Chile.

The head coach (above) was pleased with the way things panned out in the first match of his side’s South American tour.

“We got a tough workout, but we’ve got areas of our game that we know we have to work on,” he said. “We had to fight in the second half to keep Chile out and they did score a try.”

Edinburgh wing Damien Hoyland scored three of the Scots’ seven tries. And Townsend added: “It was a great finish to reach out and get his third.”
