Dream return for Dan

- BY SIMON MELLUISH

DAN LLOYD enjoyed a fairy-tale weekend in the British Touring Car Championship as the Yorkshireman scored two victories at his home circuit Croft.

The Hyundai man was lying in a hospital bed just two weeks ago after a huge accident last time out at Oulton Park. But after being given the all-clear to race as well as his team rebuilding his severely damaged car, the 30-year-old (above) was in flying form at his local track.

“I’m an emotional wreck,” admitted Lloyd. “The last two weeks have been hell. I’ve only had one win in the BTCC and that was here four years ago. To come back and do it after the team has rebuilt the car is unbelievable.”
