KYRGIOS PLAYS VILLLAIN ROLE

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

NICK KYRGIOS has claimed he can beat anyone at Wimbledon as he prepares to play the “villain-type role” against Britain’s Paul Jubb.

The flamboyant world No.45 has never got past the last eight at a Slam and is famous for rows with umpires and underarm serves.

But the Australian said: “I‘ve played top-10 players in the world this year and made them look pretty ordinary. If I’m feeling confident and playing well, I can beat more or less anyone.”

But he knows British wildcard Jubb will have the support tomorrow.

“I’ve got to ride the waves emotionally out there because the crowd is going to be behind the local,” said Kyrgios (above). “I’m used to wearing that kind of black hat, the villain-type role. I’ll embrace it.”

Jubb said: “If he serves underarm to me, I will probably laugh!”
