I’m flattered by fame says TV chef Prue
GREAT British Bake Off star Prue Leith says she finds fame flattering.
Prue, 82, has built her career around food, first as a restaurateur and chef, and later as a TV favourite.
Comparing her experience with Bake Off co-star Paul Hollywood, she said: “If somebody wants us to do a selfie, he’ll say ‘oh all right,’ but he doesn’t like it.
“Whereas I’m quite grateful for it, these are the people who pay my wages. “It’s really flattering. “I’d hate to be a politician – at least half the country will hate you.”
Prue also revealed she’s a stickler for etiquette at mealtimes, even at home.
She added: “I’m quite rough with my husband if he pulls out his phone when we’re having supper, even just the two of us.”
