Glasto’s hit & mess

- BY ANTONY THROWER

LITTER-PICKERS begin the mammoth task of cleaning up the tons of rubbish left behind at Glastonbury yesterday.

More than 200,000 revellers were at Worthy Farm for five days to see acts including Sir Paul McCartney.

As they began their journeys home from Somerset, teams began picking up discarded tents, bags and bottles.

Organiser Emily Eavis called this year’s event one of the “best ever”.

She said: “Thank you for making this such a special Glastonbury. If you’re starting to think about packing up, then please take everything home with you.”
