PM: I’ll force fresh Brexit deal through
BORIS Johnson has said he will railroad his plan to rip up a key part of his Brexit deal through Parliament by the end of the year.
MPs last night backed the Prime Minister’s bill 295-221. He says it will “fix the balance” of the Northern Ireland protocol.
He once again rejected claims that the proposals break international law.
Mr Johnson said: “You’ve got unnecessary barriers to trade from Great Britain to Northern Ireland.
“We are saying you can get rid of those whilst not in any way endangering the EU Single Market.”
But many senior Tories were not convinced.
Ex-Cabinet minister Andrew Mitchell said: “Many of us are extremely concerned the bill brazenly breaks a solemn treaty.”
