- BY CHRIS RICHES

PARENTS spend more than £133,000 to raise each of their kids from a baby to age 16, a study reveals.

Experts calculated 52 costs including nappies, mobiles, sports gear and fuel to ferry them about.

The dearest year is when kids hit 10 due to gadgets and designer labels.

Childcare was the biggest outlay at £8,366 a year, along with food, Christmas and travel.

Subscription service Bike Club said boys cost the most at £136,363, with girls at £131,520. The average was £133,871.

It involved 1,035 parents and a fifth will cut down on the car and cycle more.

Bike Club’s James Symes said of the cost-of-living crisis: “Everyone is going to be looking at outgoings, so hopefully this will help.”
