Signs of herd immunity for HPV

I’m a keen advocate of the HPV vaccination for girls and boys around 12-13 years of age. Now a US study shows how worthwhile it is.

Before the HPV vaccine was available, from 2003 a US study has tracked the prevalence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in sexually experienced young people up to 2018.

There was a 90% reduction in cervical infections among vaccinated women. But there was also a 74% reduction in these infections in unvaccinated women suggesting herd immunity is growing.
