MY BEAUTIFUL BACKYARD

-

As I am writing this I am feeling a little, ahem, jaded after three days in Glastonbury. But what an amazing experience. I didn’t stop dancing or laughing from start to finish.

It is the most magical place on earth – where else would you be able to watch living legend Paul McCartney one minute and then be raving to Fat Boy Slim the next?

You just can’t comprehend how vast the festival is until you’ve been there – it is like a town in its own right. Thank heavens for the famous Glastonbury flags. I for one was grateful for them when it came to trying to get my bearings and find my friends in the crowd.

My favourite had to be the one that read “This is a work event”. Take that, Prime Minister.

All of life was there – mums, dads, grandparents and babies – and everyone was just feeling the love and had that special Glastonbury happy glow.

One thing is for sure, I am not feeling particularly glowy at this present moment in time but it was most certainly worth it.

And even better, the teenagers managed to make it through a weekend home alone without having any parties, losing the dog or wrecking the place.

But I think next year they will be clamouring to join us with their wellies and tents at Glastonbury.

You will be pleased to know that Siobhan is also back from her travels tomorrow. I’ve loved seeing all your selfies and hearing your stories over the last week. Thanks for having me!

Christine Chaffer admits to getting a bit of help with the mowing and the heavier work in her stunning garden – but the attention to detail throughout is all hers.

Christine of Freckleton, Lancashire, created this stunning teddy bears’ picnic for little visitors to her plot - complete with a miniature pottery tea set.

She says: “It was the bears that wanted a picnic. I had so many bears that it was a shame not to let them.”
