WHEN THE BOT COMES IN AT TOON

- BY

SVEN BOTMAN was last night putting the finishing touches to his £37million switch to Newcastle.

The Dutch defender (below), 22, jetted in for his medical at the training ground before heading to St James’ Park to sign after the Toon fended off Serie A champions AC Milan in the bidding.

But Paris SaintGermain are now favourites to sign Hugo Ekitike after Newcastle pulled out of a £25m deal with French club Reims over extra demands.

Eddie Howe is keen to enter talks with Leeds over Raphinha – as well as teammate Jack Harrison – if the Brazilian’s £60m fee drops. The Magpies chief wants another striker and may also turn to Chelsea’s Armando Broja, 20, who shone on loan at Southampton last season.
