JODIE’S A SWEETIE

JODIE BURRAGE was the first Brit knocked out at Wimbledon – but she still brought home the bacon after rescuing a stricken ballboy with a pack of Percy Pig sweets.
Despite slumping to a 6-2 6-3 defeat against Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko, 23-year-old Burrage won the crowd’s hearts as a freelance first-aider.
She spotted that a ballboy was feeling faint and rushed to the fridge by the umpire’s chair to fetch an energy drink, before a spectator handed her a packet of a well-known confectionery brand.
“He was not in a good spot,” said Burrage. “I tried to help him out as much as possible. It was quite distressing to see, so I tried to get him some sugar – a Gatorade and a gel.
“The gel is not the nicest thing, but someone managed to find some Percy Pigs and he then started to feel better.”
