Many to raid rainy-day pot

MORE than a third of people will use savings to get through the cost-of-living crisis, research has shown.

Over half have cut the sum they save and a third have stopped. One in seven have no safety net at all.

The Building Societies Association asked 2,000 people about their spending habits before Friday’s mini-Budget.
