Going green can beat the money blues

- BY ALICE HUGHES

TAKING quick showers and collecting rainwater are among the top 30 ways people are going greener, and saving cash.

They are also helping the environment by growing fruit and veg, buying organic food and only washing clothes that are visibly dirty.

A study by Yeo Valley Organic found 58% believe they live a green lifestyle but 55% still want to do more to save the planet.

The firm’s Beth Jones said: “What’s great about the green habits many Brits already incorporate into their routine is as well as having a positive impact on health and the planet, they also save money.”

But the study also found that 44% believe that it is more difficult to live a greener lifestyle.
