NORWICH loanee Aaron Ramsey reckons he is at the perfect club to be able to hone his craft as a potentially top-drawer midfielder.

The teenager produced another classy performance in the Canaries’ engine room as they deservedly beat Blackpool.

It was Norwich’s seventh win in eight Championship games, and they are just a point behind leaders Sheffield United.

Ramsey (right) joined the Norfolk club on loan from Aston Villa in the summer having previously worked with Carrow Road boss Dean Smith at Villa Park.

“I know this is a massive chance for me here this season,” said Ramsey, 19. “Norwich is a huge club, we’re flying at present and I feel like I’m kicking on personally. Everyone knows the goal at this club. We need to get back into the Premier League, and so far it’s looking promising.

“The club have been amazing with me so far but I need to keep my head down and keep doing what I’m doing.

“The games are coming thick and fast but that’s not a problem as the togetherness is there in the squad and we’re all pulling together.

“I’ve worked with the gaffer before at Villa and it feels great that he’s put that belief and trust in me here.”

Ramsey, who played a starring role in this gritty win at Bloomfield Road settled by Teemu Pukki, acknowledges the period between now and the World Cup break is crucial for Norwich and their promotion ambitions.

He added: “The gaffer has said there’s 13 games now until the World Cup.

“It’s going to be a tough period but we’ll keep fighting, just like we did at Blackpool.”

And Smith had a warning for his team’s promotion rivals.

He said: “We’re getting better. We want to have more control of games but that will come.”

Blackpool finished 16th last term following promotion from League One, but hover just above the drop zone after three defeats on the spin and four in their last five games.

Boss Michael Appleton, who took charge in June, said: “If we get anywhere near close to what the players achieved last season, that would be fantastic. That must always be your aim every year – to try and get as close to, or better, than what you did the previous season.

“The only issue is that this league has become stronger, the money has become bigger, but we’ve just got to continue to try to compete.”
