Grealish’s moving tribute to sister’s health battles
3 Lions star opens up to fan about cerebral palsy
ENGLAND star Jack Grealish paid a moving tribute to his little sister Hollie as he met a young superfan who, like her, has cerebral palsy.
The £100million Man City winger, named in the World Cup squad for Qatar, told of 19-year-old Hollie’s battle with the condition which severely affects movement and co-ordination.
“I love her so much,” he said in a video. “We are so close. She was born three months premature and they said she would not be able to talk, walk.
“And she can do everything.” He spoke as he met his “No 1 fan” Finlay, 11. In the video, viewed 2.3 million times, Jack hugs Finlay, who holds a trophy after winning a tournament at
Man City’s disability training. Finlay said he plays football with his dad, “who never lets him win.” But Jack told him: “Invite me down and then we will win!” Finlay had written to his idol: “I wish there were more people like you who treat people with disabilities the same as anyone else. You’re my hero and the best big brother to your sister. My dream is to meet you and give you a high five.” Jack, 27, told Finlay his letter had made him smile “from start to finish”. Premier League’s “Fan Mail” set up the meeting.
